We shall be meeting at the Plough at Normanton on the Wolds at the usual time of 10.00 am for coffee. The walk is about 5 miles over pretty flat terrain and we should return in nice time for lunch around 1.00 pm. The walk is very scenic with some great views. The pathways are well marked and not difficult underfoot (certainly they were excellent yesterday in nearly drought conditions). I was, though, encouraged by my fellow hikers to mention that there are one or two short parts of the walk which could prove ‘irritating’ to anyone with sensitive thighs wearing shorts. Best wear trousers!
The full address of the pub is:

The pub is located just off the A606, the Nottingham to Melton Road (7 miles from Nottingham city centre). If coming from the North or West you need the Nottingham Ring Road which will take you directly to the A606 by just following the signs for Melton. After you have passed the Plumtree and Cotgrave crossroads on the A606 take any of three left turns into Normanton village.
If coming from the South or East, then the A46 is best. Take the A606 towards Nottingham and once you have passed Stanton on the Wolds take any of three right turns into Normanton village. As it says on the website. All three turns lead to the Plough.
The pub is located at the top end of the main road through the village. There is no pub car park, but plenty of parking is available on the road outside.
